I have heard that the American University of Sharjah has a break loose during Christmas time. Do you know of any other universities that follow this schedule?

EID Holidays Set By UAE Labor Law?

What if an staff member is forced to work during the EID holidays and not is getting extra paid or extra time for those 3 days (Monday-Tuesday-Wednesday)?
Is that in damage with the UAE labor law?
Answer: Article 81
Where it is needful for the work interest to put a worker on duty during publicholidays or days off in respect of which he is entitled to full or one-sided pay, he shall begranted substitute leave in respect of such days, plus 50 per cent of his wage. If he isnot granted substitute adieu to, his employer shall pay him 150 per cent of his basicwage in respect of the days worked.
But heed: The above mentioned doesn't apply to persons holding senior executive managerial or administrative positions! And it's applicable only for employees falling under the Labor Law.
Guess public sector will be off for 4-5 days (hubby will be off a whole week).

Answer: There is no identified with numbers of holidays entitles in Ramadan. As per law muslims employees should be made to work 2 hrs less in Ramadan. Most of the company obey this law by making all employees work for 2 hrs less.
However, for Eidul Filtr, 2 days are entitles. One on the day of Eid and the next day.

Answer: This weekend we are flying to Istanbul, Turkey for a prolonged weekend as it is only a four hour flight. We sometimes drive to Fajairhah, which is about a two hour drive, and shore up at one of the resorts that's right on the water.
