I am traveling to Dubai, UAE and i was wondering does anybody distinguish if i would be better changing the currency in Dubai or here in the UK - which one offers the best rate?

I have occasion for to exchange some Derhams to $US.
I went to all different banks but the rate is too bad. Where is the place that I can get the best currency exchange rate in New York?
I have crumb confusion about Currency Exchange !
Suppose I'm living in UAE I have 100 USD(united states dollar), I craving to purchase UK sterling against these 100 USD. Which Rate Will they offer ???
1. A general rate which prevails between these 2 countries at that conditions
2. First they will convert those dollars to AED (arab emirates dirhams) and then to sterling .
3. Or anything else.
