How Much Foreign Exchange (UAE Dirhams) Should Be Taken Along While Going On A Employee Visa To UAE ? |
My helpmeet is going from India to UAE on a Employee Visa (i.e. Work Visa). Her monthly wages is fixed at 7500 UAE Dirham + Transport + Accommodation. How much foreign exchange (UAE Dirham) should she take with her from India ? and in which etiquette ?
| Answer: Smartest and most commodious would be to use a credit card. That way your Rupee account would be debited and she receives AED. If this isn't possible, she should at least transport AED 5K minimum in cash which doesn't mean to be spent but to be prepared for the unexpected. Your missus needs to eat, buy toiletries, make phone calls and doesn't know yet if she needs to buy anything for her facility. Please note that your wife will enter the UAE on an employment entry permit. Her residence visa will be processed when she is in the boonies and pass the medical exam. The same time she also has to apply for her Emirates National ID visiting-card which will cost AED 320. |
